During the time Reuben and Rsyn were away from Haelwyn, Rsyn became cursed. She couldn't return home and was quickly forgetting her family. Desperate to relieve the curse, she tried to find someone that could help her. It was then that she encountered a Shade Witch, deep within the Tangled Wood.

A deal was made. The witch said they would assist in lifting Rsyn's curse, letting her go back home, if Rsyn would provide her a favor. Rsyn agreed. She wanted Reuben, wanted Dragan. She was forgetting them rapidly and she didn't want to. The witch said they were unable to go into the cities alone. They wanted companionship, to live among people. If Rsyn found herself in a city, she would come back and bring the witch in. Make a place at her table. Provide for them.

Rsyn agreed, and the witch lifted her curse.

But
Rsyn forgot

It's been years and the witch has lived in the wilds, patiently waiting. Then they catch word of Reuben and Rsyn, bc of the Inouan disaster, and they felt betrayed. It took a long time, but the managed to hunt down the family, hunt down Rsyn, and when she left Haelwyn on a gathering trip, the witch confronted her. Rsyn didn't remember them, as tundra usually don't.
Which made the witch angrier, distraught. And so they cursed Rsyn's next children with Shade and horrific forms. Said Rsyn would forget these children just as she had forgotten the witch.

When this child was born, his family was startled at his size. Much larger than the other children, it was soon evident this Guardian took after his father Reuben in just how large and broad he was. He soon outgrew his siblings and his mother, towering above them. It's not known whether he rivals Reuben in height, as this dragon slouches and keeps his head lowered most days. While he loves his family, he never felt he fit in, so when his mother began to forget him, he quietly took his leave.

His abilities manifest in that Nuadha produces a thick fog when he is nervous or threatened. The man is normally surrounded by a light fog, as even his hair becomes it. When in battle, he can create illusions to confuse, bewilder and frighten his enemies. Coupled with the fog he gives off, many find themselves frightened and run from his as quickly as they can. His body has a tendency to warp into something monstrous, something to be feared. It's hard to shift back to his more humanoid form after, and as such, people have started referring to him as the Beast of the Tangled Woods. This title, however, proved to remind him that it is a curse when a hunter attacked him out of fear. He lost an eye, his ear, and an entire horn from the blast. Were it not for the Shade in his blood, he would not have survived.

Now he wanders in solitude, but it is not aimless. The call of a Charge has him focused and driven.
