Biography

Atronas
Foggy/Awkward/Middle-aged
Clan Patriarch

Atronas lifted his eyes from the small book held in his right forepaw and wrinkled his snout, upsetting the tiny rounded spectacles precariously perched upon it. Startled, he reached up with the other forepaw and delicately hooked a claw around the rims to stop them from falling before lifting them off his face and settling them on the boulder beside him. He was getting a headache from puzzling out the tiny human script; enough reading for today.

He stretched, extending legs and wings to their fullest extent before folding everything back together. He was slightly messy about it; his wings didn't fit next to his body the way they probably should. But there was no one to see, anyway. And he could always blame it on the stones growing ever larger in his fur. He supposed he ought to do something about that; he couldn't move his wings as well as he used to. But only a little less. It really didn't matter.

"Ikiera!" His voice scratched as it came out; how long had he been reading this time? "Ikiera, dragonchild, come here, please?"

Name a list of any ten things, and you have probably listed at least eight that Atronas is not interested in but knows a lot about. Gaining knowledge -- gaining it, but not using it -- is his life. He knows several languages, Ancient Human and some Beastclan dialects to name a few, but only so he can read their writings and assimilate the information. He is passive to the point of infuriating most acquaintances; he may know the precise angle with which to claw off an attacking dragon's neck, but would never use that knowledge even to save his own life. This is assuming he still had the strength and flexibility of his youth, which is...very far from the truth. Atronas is old and fat, and he likes himself that way.

When he was young, he never had time to study. He never fought, only fled, but of course that is very time-consuming. When he reached adulthood, he began dreaming of one day starting his own Clan -- not out of want for companionship or for passing down his growing knowledge, but for the safety and security of pursuing his own goals. When he met Ikiera, a young, vibrant Fae frustrated with the trials of living alone as well, they agreed to a partnership that has blossomed beautifully into Clan Stonehearth.

Atronas cares for others, but despite his vast stores of knowledge, that caring mostly manifests on the surface. Almost everyone in the Clan would agree that he is a good leader, for the most part -- he makes sure that all of the Clan's members are well-fed and safe from attack, and he places very few restrictions on Clan movements or activities, as long as they stay within their boundaries -- but he barely interacts with any of them, preferring instead to keep to himself unless deliberately asked by someone to participate in an event or discussion. He communicates primarily through Ikiera, though she dislikes being a mouthpiece, and also occasionally through messages tied to his Familiar, Lichta. He doesn't like to be without her, though, as she produces enough bioluminescent light to allow him to read even in the darkest portions of the Caverns.
