Dawn

There was a string of rapid high pitched noises coming from the nose of an Ice male ridgeback. A small excited hatchling was running up and down his snout.

"I know love, but we aren't there just yet," the ridgeback chuckled. He bounced the little one on his nose and tossed her to the top of his head. "We'll be there soon enough, so don't worry your pretty head. Your papa will get you there safe."

The hatchling landed on her father's head with a solid plop. She let out a small whine before scurrying down the back of his neck, weaving in between his large spines for safer descent. While it was only a few hours according to the clock in her father's herbal pouch, it was an eternity to her.

She was climbing and crawling all over her father until the moment she finally ran out of energy to move. The hatchling crawled right back into the herbal pouch and curled up for a nap.

"Dawn. Dawwwwwwwn~ Rise and shine, love."

The hatchling gave a groggy whine and buried herself deeper into the herbs. It wasn't long until her father's nose started poking.

"Dawwwwwwwwn. Your new clan wants to see you."

First she opened one glittering pink eye, about halfway. Then the other. Both were still heavy with sleep. Eventually she raised her head to nuzzle into her father's nose.

"Atta girl. Come on. They're waiting."

She crawled out of the pouch and gave a shy peep towards the lightning clan.

"Out of spark already?" her father grinned. "I guess you do have a limit to your energy after all."

The hatchling huffed in offense. She raised her wings in an entertaining attempt to make herself look bigger. Soon enough she was running circles around her father again.

"And here comes the second wind. . . ."

Konstantina chuckled at Dawn's movement around him before looking up at Hex once more. "She's got more energy than some of the other children around here. I'm sure she'll fit in just fine. Thank you to much for taking the time to bring her personally. Little Dawn. . . such a precious name for her." She watched Dawn for a little longer before her smile became that much warmer.
