Banish

Banish, The Captain of The Hearth Guard. He is once Vandyl's subordinate, but has since been challenged and defeated for that role by Fyr. He's been around longer than most. Artemis, entirely out of character, decided it was only fair that he's a member, even if only a lesser one. Though due to a brief altercation with his half sister, Artemis refuses to give the rights to Shila's claim. Banish still is upset about this matter, and still working on giving his sister what she's owed.

Banish isn't much like his father, in the sense that he doesn't take long to think about his decisions. This is not to say he's a fool, he just tends to make hasty decisions from time to time. Most of the time it works to his satisfaction. His father wishes he was more like him, though he knows he can't control him, and just accepted him as this way. Very much like his father though, Banish is valiant and affable in every way, and quite stubborn about it. Opting to the most ethical decision regardless if everyone is in agreement of it or not (or even benefiting from it, really).

He turns to Zida for guidance most of the time, other times she just speaks her mind without waiting to be asked. When she does, she does so from past experiences. So even when she advises him on a better decision, but it betrays his ideologies, he reluctantly agrees to it. It's because he's known her for so long, he knows there's weight to her words. He hasn't had much guidance from his parents, both who were too busy and engaged in their own strife and personal battles. He turned to Zida to figure things out. When he was given a choice to nominate someone as a personal bodyguard, he had no doubt in choosing her. Especially due to his current situation, he needs her more than ever.

He scares off hatchlings and makes other dragons uncomfortable, but he doesn't understand why. Because of this, he doesn't talk to any of the other dragons unless he needs to. He's gotten so used to being alone, the new regime of The Council has made him uncomfortable. Because of the new faces that are equally as unnerving as him, so everyone just finds him approachable more than ever currently. This is exclusive to The Council, though; most of the rest of the clan still find him unsettling.

When Fyr defeated him through a challenge, impressing both Artemis and Vandyl, they've stripped Banish of his role and demoted him back to just being a the captain of the guard. They've given Fyr his position in the Council. Banish is still trying to reclaim his position, training hard enough to challenge Fyr for his role back...
