Once mated to a strong dragoness, Lantern has learned how to cope with the gaping hole im her heart. Spending her days grieving for her lost beloved, the dragons aroud her have watched as her smile has melted away, and her once kind demenor has morphed into a reclusive greif. Years ago, a dragoness named Kipara won her heart, and with it Lantern had won hers. The pair seemed to mever be apart from one another, and even The ever shy Lantern found her voice when around her other half. However has time passed, and their bonds grew close, a terrible choice was offered to the stronger of the two of them. On one fateful day, nearly two years ago, they said their goodbyes, as Kipara left to her home in plague with the promise to return. Kipara had been summoned back to the scarred wasteland, knowing the dangers but unable to turn away from her clan. Lantern still remebered their last kiss, the feeling lingering to this day.. She recalled the giddy feeling she once felt as she rushed out of her home each day to wait for Kipara to return to her. But soon, she found, days melted into weeks, and weeks to months, and finally, left alone for the rest of her days, Lantern was forced to come to terms that her mate was never coming back to her.

From a young age Lantern has always been fascinated with lights. The way they illuminated the darkness or could both split through and create shadows, bringing a sense of wonder and almost mystery to them. As a hatchling she found herself tinkering with lights. Setting small fires, attempting to create them using magic, even using some of Soul’s contraptions from his Lighting origins to try and make an electrically produced glow. As she matured Lantern’s skills grew and she started to create beautiful creations of glass, metal, and paper, sending them out with small magical flames inside to illuminate other dragons lairs. Her craft expanded over time, and soon not only did each of her Clan members obtain her creations, but other clans and Dragons as well. With increasing popularity Lantern soon plans to open a small shop and sell her lights across the world of Sorneith. Lantern has always been generally soft spoken and calm. Originating from Arcane, her search brought her deep into the Viridian Labyrinth where she discovered a small abandoned mine filled with glittering gem deposits. However her Charge came with with a catch. For the mine she discovered rested within a Clan called the Jade Sanctuary. The dragons living in the territory all agreed to Grant her residence in their home, however the leader only requested that she become an official member of the Sanctuary and help contribute to their small society. Lantern, friendly and helpful as any dragon you'll meet, gladly accepted, and was meet with welcome wings. |
