The Past
He and his siblings were born into a world of cruelty, their parents outcasts, shunned by others for their blasphemous powers. The villagers whispered behind their backs, insults breathed into the other villager's ears, disapproval following them wherever they went. Demon children, they were called, children whose parents encouraged them to embrace the power of the gods, the gifts of creation and destruction that no dragon should hold. Miras learned from their mother the power of destruction, while Hageshikami learned from their father the power of creation. Their sister, Hobart, was not gifted like her brothers. She was frail, her body weak, and yet her heart was strong. She could not understand, why her brothers fought against the villagers, encouraging them to not fight with claws or magic, but to make amends with kindness and compassion. Both brothers tried their hardest to protect their vulnerable sister; she did not have power, and therefore did not deserve the treatment Hageshikami and Miras endured. The villagers did not care. They showed no mercy; unbeknownst to the brothers, they poisoned Hobart, her already frail body slowly succumbing to the poison, destroying her from the inside. The brothers pleaded to the village for help, and yet they turned their noses up at the children. 'They deserved it,' they said, 'Now there is one less of those demons in the world.' The brothers wept as their sister's life was taken from them by the ones who hated them the most. They had the power of the gods; why could they not save her? Hobart's death changed them, hate and despair fueling their desires. No more would they be tormented, no more would they be treated like outcasts. The two brothers came to a decision; Miras would remain home, to protect their parents from the village, and Hageshikami would travel, searching for a way to create a better life for them. He embraced his powers of creation, studying all that he could. Curses, pranks, aid...he did it all, under the guise of a mask, for if someone recognized him, the pain would begin again. Despite his pranks, despite the curses thrown at him for the chaos he sowed, sometimes he was treated as a beloved advocate, for saving others, from farmers to kings. Others turned a blind eye to his godlike powers, and he became coveted for his skills. This was how it was supposed to be: not feared, but wanted. To be regarded as a Hero. |

The Present Hearing of his heroic deeds, a king extended him an invitation; he would work for the king in a secret operations group as a glorified bounty hunter, hunting those that could bring disaster to the world. He accepted the offer; he could save others, and prevent others from tormenting those who were different. The work was easy, and over time, he found love in Utatokino, the clan's seer and the dragon who was responsible for creating their assignments. He thought about his brother, and his parents, wondering how they were doing, and if they had heard about him. After many assignments and much blood staining his claws, he was sent on a final assignment with Utatokino; to find and assassinate a young Nocturne would would bring down the moon and destroy the world. Finding the dragon was easy; his subordinates captured and executed his parents, and Utatokino erased the Nocturne's brother from time itself. In sort of an act of mercy, he instead cursed the Nocturne with opal, leaving the Nocturne for dead. With the assignment completed, Hageshikami and Utatokino roamed the world, eventually being drawn to Shadowbinder's lands and the Gravy Clan. There, he discovered the Nocturne had survived. Majora, his name was, the opal on his body glittering gold. However, behind his eyes was a festering hate. He had to protect this clan, this world from this dragon, and asked Utatokino to hide, keeping an eye on things while he joined the clan, becoming one of the Champions who served under McGee. He discovered that Majora had taken a mate, and had a daughter, Horatia. When the daughter got too close to the truth, that he would have to slay her father, Utatokino threw her out of the timeline, essentially erasing her from the earth. Utatokino was invited to the clan, where she could keep a careful eye on Majora, who was overcome by grief and rage. Hageshikami realized that he alone could no longer stop Majora, that he would have to find someone to help. However, his saving grace came in the form of their daughter, Sheikah. As a child, he doted on her, determined to ensure that no one would treat her like the villagers in her past had treated him and his family. Sheikah could stop Majora long enough for Hageshikami to kill him. She was the clan's shining hope. But for now, he had to be patient. |
