.. warden of the athenaeum and the enclave's official historian ..

T he first thing that greeted you as you took your first steps into the Athenaeum was the softly-hued yet piercing light that made its way through the grand stained glass windows from outside. The second - which only appeared after you had acclimated to your surroundings - came in the form of a male spiral whose coloration was somewhat reminiscent of a late afterglow during a sunset. His long, spindly body smoothly winded towards you from some dark part of the huge building that had not seemed to exist beforehand.
"You speak to Homer Zhou-Vogel, master of this library and nephew and consult to Deacon Galene." His voice was rough and slightly gravelly, in such a way that suggested that you were the first he had spoken to in some time.
"As you have probably already noticed," Homer continued, "I have far too many responsibilities to waste my time on lollygaggers. Please state your business here so that I can assist you and quickly return to my business, and, preferably, do not have to explain myself to my aunt and suffer the wrath of the arbiter because despite her benevolent aura she is quite possibly the most terrifying skydancer- no, the most terrifying dragon to have ever presided in Sornieth. Ever."
There was something amusing in the way his childish demeanor broke through his presentation of a grouchy librarian that allowed you to remain somewhat interested in his little tangent. Nonetheless, it took a moment's pause and an irritated look from the spiral for you to register that he was done. You quickly and quietly inquire how you can learn more about the Enclave.
"Oh, yes!" he replied, beginning to wind away towards a particular section of the athenaeum. "This section has all you need. I especially reccommend these materia--"
