Fuller's words fall on deaf ears and are carried off by another biting wind. A second passes, then a minute without a response, save the occasional scuttling of the tundra's fauna. Seems no one's home, or whoever's there simply doesn't care. By now, the snapper was used to this - dragons migrated, lairs were abandoned, and certain stubborn clans simply preferred not to be disturbed. Especially this one, she figured. Fuller gave a final solemn nod toward the dark cavern and turned around to continue her virtuous journey, knowing she wasn't wanted. But she was mistaken.
For just off to the side waited a shy golden fae holding her breath.
The fae took the embers one by one into the living quarters and lined them around its perimeter.
At last, a single, glassy eye opened at her side.
"What...What are these..."
"Embers, Aira. Someone dropped them by our doorstep, among other supplies."
"...We don't need help. We don't accept help. You know this."
"Even now?"
"I at least want a chance to thank her, for the supplies I mean.
What happened next was a true rarity. Aira smiled.
"Then what are you waiting for? Let's find that old forgemaster and wish her a merry Gala together."
