![]() R A H A L vampiric druid
a cursed god
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾
Once a benevolent forest druid, Rahal's greatest purpose had been to protect and nurture those within his care. He was notably a kind, gentle soul, but his foolishly trusting personality soon led him to his own doom. Rahal sought to help a traveler he had happened upon, a grotesque, tattered imperial who had slumped into his hove unceremoniously. However, Rahal soon discovered that the imperial was not injured at all, but instead a vile creature of night and black magicks and yet so very charming. The druid soon became enamored with the creature and bent himself to suit the other's needs, and eventually his lover forced him to turn. Haunted by a thirst for blood and intolerance for the sunlight he had once basked in, Rahal went mad, stricken by grief for what he had lost. He eventually abandoned his abuser and his beloved woodlands, attempting to stifle his desire to feed to little avail. A tortured, melancholy soul, he mourns what he has lost to the point of insanity.

run your tongue along a bloodied maw
and inhale dust and copper
pray that it is yours
and ignore the crumpled form in the corner
only tales of lies are told
before it is time to wander
a world that you now see as old
and irrelevant to your ire
exhale, sigh
breathe in more copper, taste it
falter in your judgement
and wonder why the heavens have chosen
to curse you so
with such malevolence
and inhale dust and copper
pray that it is yours
and ignore the crumpled form in the corner
only tales of lies are told

a world that you now see as old
