He was royalty. There was no way he was deserving of such treatment, how dare his parents suggest such a big thing like this so suddenly. He needed to leave, step out of his comfort zone, where he was adored, looked up to, spoiled, and just...leave. Go to another clan-- somewhere that might not even be under the Gladekeeper. He made excuses, faked injuries, anything to try not to let his parents know he was scared. So, so scared. He didn't want to go. But he didn't want to look like a wimp, either.

The day came, his chest was painted with his deity's symbol, his fellow clan mates pressing their claws dipped in paint powder along his body, blessing him with flowers from their nests as his mother packed a satchel, quiet tears dripping down her snout. He stood strong, head high and giving the bravest look he could muster. This was okay, he would be fine. He'd..never see his family again, but now he had the chance to make a new family. Spread their royal blood across Sornieth. He would make his parents so proud.

He held back stressed tears as he presses his paw into the dirt past his clan's territory line, balling his claws into the damp earth and taking in a shaky sigh. One step in front of the other, thats all. He could do this. The trees slowly grew thinner around him, the forest he was so familiar with melting into sand as he moved onwards. Soon enough, he was met with a vast body of water, and stretching out his wings, he took off on his journey.
