Biography
BAZBA Sharpened claws tapped incessantly against the stone, fiery eyes raking their way across the dusty floor of the Arena. She easily picked out the spots in the floor where the sand would need to be turned over, painted a dusky red from the bloodshed that was unavoidable in such a place. Her head kinked back as she watched the few dragons that continued to dance and or stomp their way across the field. A hiss managed to force its way through her teeth, the mirror becoming more and more irate at the dwindling prospects before her. Not a single dragon she had seen today, nor ever, had what it took to impress her! It was beginning to drive her mad, the amount of people that came to her on a day to day basis, thinking that if they pestered her enough that it would force her to capitulate. She hated seeing the cocksure attitude that gleamed in their eyes, or the ones that came crawling to her on their bellies, begging her with that sickeningly pathetic looks on their faces. She could feel the irritation beginning to broil under the surface of her scales, feeling the heat rising higher and higher, even without the blistering heat of the volcano behind her. The sounds of squabbling beneath her did nothing to soothe her anger, and finally she snapped, needing quiet to bring herself back to earth. Her temper boiled over, the stone beneath her claws fracturing from the pressure she exerted. Her wings shot out, and her roar drew the attention of the dragons left on the field, as the mirror leapt from her perch. Her tongue flicked out as the boney crest lifted in her anger, snarling at the collection of dragons. “Out, out!” She snarled, and the fighters, ranging from fledgling to ferocious, withered at her anger. Amber tossed his head with a growl, staring down the mirror for a moment before tossing a spray of sand with his tail as he marched out of the coliseum. Once the doors had shut and the mirror was finally alone, she felt as though she could breath once more. She longed to turn her claws against something, but she settled for raking lines in the ground beneath her, turning it back into an uneven golden color. She was unsure how long she had been there, soaking in the heat surrounding the arena, when the sounds of talons scraping the ground met her ears. She leapt up, teeth and claws bared and ready, wings splayed up in a threatening stance. It would not be the first time that someone had jumped her, tempted by her position in the clan. Instead of an assailant, ready to meet her in battle, it was none other than the face of her mate, a startled one at that. Each of their ruffs easily settled down once Bazba’s eyes had registered the feathery face before her. The mirror settled on her feet, looking a little embarrassed when she had not recognized that it was Kalfu. Thankfully, the coatl didn’t need to ask her what was wrong, simply moving to twine his tail with hers, working his magic to calm her down without raising her ire once more. The mirror could breathe again, and she settled into his warmth, thankful for the mate that had stuck by her side. |
