Biography
|
A charming paladin that hails from the same domain as Prism, Core hides a dark secret within his body, and knows well that eventually he would have to pay for it. Perceptive and cheerful, the Mirror seems to have nary a care for the world as he works hard to purge evil from the Hewn City, trying his utmost to impress his deity in the most unorthodox of ways. However, there is a glint of insidiousness to the friendly man, a fear that he carries that is so parallel to Prism's and yet...much more different in the ways they react to it. It is no secret of the way the Lightweaver's paladins work- zealous and unyielding, a lot of them fanatically worship Her and would gladly lay their lives down for her, often spouting religious statements to sway others to their cause. They are noble, and yet false in their quest, making Core no different than they are...apart for the fact that he had never had a free will or ventured beyond the Lightweaver's territory. Created as an answer to Shade entities in the deep parts of the Hewn City, Core had been shackled inside for thousands of years battling everything that came his way the moment he could walk and the runes on his body burn if he even moves an inch outside of his designated radius. It was a fulfilling job, but one that grew monotonous fast even with the rewards that were given to him: the glamour surrounding his work station was like a palace, with good food and comfortable quarters as well as an arsenal of increasingly powerful weapons at his disposal. Life would've remained the way it was for Core if Hyukkwon hadn't come into the picture. The Skydancer, imprisoned too within the Hewn City for releasing the Shade Speaker Jaehyun, enthralled Core with stories of the outside world and how lavish it was to be able to breathe in something that wasn't filled with 'buttloads of glitter and fake manure'. The naive Mirror released Hyukkwon, who immediately darted up and cackled before blasting a powerful stream of Fire-based Light magic at Core, mocking the paladin for being this stupid and made his escape. Chastised and angered, Core soon followed, his runes no longer binding him to the City from Hyukkwon burning them and has dedicated his life to chasing the Skydancer rogue ever since. He would not rest until he slays the Shadetouched and his husband, and he knows that is his quest. However, seeing the outside world and the truth that Hyukkwon had spoke of to him had slowly changed Core. He now dreads the day he finds Hyukkwon and be forced to return to the now-dreary part of the Hewn City, and wanders along the various territories taking up odd jobs, procrastinating on his quest as much as possible. The runes on his body now are red, angry scars on the sides of his body, no longer charged with magic, but Core is hardly aware of this. If anything, he still isn't aware that Hyukkwon had been the one to set him free. |
