Benoit is another wanderer who found his way from his home to the Clan of the Outcast. Originally, he was hired to enact revenge on Tetanus for a dragon who decided her services were not wanted after all. His job was to rob her store and return the goods and funds. Instead, he met Tetanus... and fell for her hard. (What can you do when love rears its head?) Soon, instead of robbing her store, he was working to protect it from others who might share his former employer's feelings. Tetanus appreciates the help much more than she appreciates his attention. When not guarding Tetanus's shop, he spends his free time actively antagonizing her friend Euphrates. While it has yet to come to blows, others of the clan suspect that Euphrates's patience will one day wear thin, and Benoit will discover the consequences of baiting a guardian. Some of his clanmates have attempted to explain this to Benoit, but he doesn't seem to care. He is exceptionally jealous of how close Tetanus is to Euphrates, and this has made him somewhat less than reasonable. The clan leaders have considered recruiting him to protect and provide for the clan, thus channeling his aggressive energy into a more useful outlet, but there is one problem with this idea: Benoit would have to work alongside Euphrates. Currently, at least, this is impossible. Perhaps one day he will settle down a bit and be sent to train with Georgette, but for now, he simply guards Tetanus's goods. |
