Callirus

Born to a ruined city, Callirus was immediately on her own, her parents Kahili and Cirrus both busy on a patrol near the desecrated outskirts of the once great metropolis.

She wandered aimlessly, her legs weak under her, her yelps of surprise when her tender footpads trod upon the sharp detritus underneath, the only sound in the dry dead air.

It was three hours later that Cirrus, frantic in her attempts to track the scent of her final hatchling, found Callirus, curled and sleeping, in the hollow of an old stump, a last vestige of the forest park that once centred the city.
