Biography
You've seen him in action. A shapeshifter, supposedly. Normally some two headed deer with wings and supposedly the same crimson eyes. A peryton, maybe. Some unholy amalgamation of deer, canine, and bird.* (*mule deer, pharaoh hound/doberman/celtic hound/african wild dog, peregrine falcon/..swan? or raven? idk)
You're not too sure about that part, but you do know two things, contradictory as they are.
He's brutal - you've seen him, when given a wordless shake of the head, take that spear and ram it through a gladiator's chest so viciously that it comes out the other end - bearing a pulsing red muscle that slowly stops.
He's kind - you've seen him, outside of the Pits, when following the woman he calls Master or Boss, stop for a moment to do some selfless act. You've seen her stop and help, on occasion, or at least stop and smile softly.
You've seen him swap between the two, and - most tellingly - you've seen him kill a gladiator that he helped not a week ago. No one's really sure what to make of him.
Makoto's Loyal Hound
Cunorix appeared barely over a year ago. The only one that knows anything about his past, or where he's from, is Makoto - and he plans on keeping it that way. He's not a gladiator, not really - if you ask him what his role is, more often than not he'll tell you "I'm a guard dog." with a sharp toothed smirk.
You can generally find him near Makoto, either as a deer or a humanoid, or something else entirely. He doesn't seem to understand the meaning of fear - bigger challenges and bigger dangers simply make him grin wider. According to him, one of the reasons the pair came to Myansi at all was because he wants to fight Mao. And Yilmaz. And The Accipiter, and all of Myansi's top fighters. He wants to spar with them, at the very least, while Makoto gets to watch.
One of the major secrets is thus - neither his brutality nor his kindness is an act. A merciless warrior who'll kill even innocents if it's a job - he's more like an older brother to many otherwise. Surprisingly, he can be quite boisterous and gets excited easily -- though he has a red hot temper when it comes to traitors, and gets bored just as easily as he gets excited. Tedious things don't suit him, he says.
He's terrifyingly loyal to Makoto, and attempts to inquire as to his contract or anything of that sort are often met with violence. He doesn't have one, he says. Makoto is his Master, and that's a choice he made. He's not a traitor, either, not like a certain other who wont be named.
Besides. Makoto provides him with good fights, good spoils, and is a good Master - as a guard dog, he can't think of anything more to ask for out of life.
