Like an exquisitely crafted sculpture that captures the shimmering beauty of the Aurora Borealis, Parhelion is every bit the artist that her shimmering visage would implore dragons to believe. Her first memories revolve around the glowing luminescent mushrooms that dot the landscape of her foggy domain, at times she would rush away from her parents to chase after what she would later claim was a dancing mushroom. No dragon in her clan, least of all her parents, would believe her stories of dancing mushrooms and they refused to heed the tails of whispering fireflies that told mysterious stories to any with ears to listen. Her linguist mother often pondered if her ability to hear things that others could not was a direct result of her own prowess being passed down to her progeny, however there was no evidence of this. As she grew and her iridescent scales began to glow in the darkness, scales seeming to be alive as the mist and fog swirled around her, Parhelion learned to twist her body and wings, dancing in the darkness with only illumination from the dancing mushrooms around her.

On a particularly dark evening when an ominous cast colored the ground, Parhelion slipped from her cave to stretch her legs and dance. Eyes watched from dark caves as her dancing brought her near the mushrooms she so loved and those same many jeweled eyes bore witness to the first time her artistry emerged. Spreading her wings out wide, the light of the dancing mushrooms caught her luminescent wings and shone an array of multicolored light that lit the fog into rainbows of flickering green and blue lights. Dragons were drawn from their caves towards the lights that seemed alive before their eyes and laughter filled the air as Parhelion fluttered her wings and swayed her body, causing the artificial aurora to flicker off walls and fog alike. Validation overwhelmed her small body, filling her with the urge to bubble over with excitement as the dragons of her clan danced through the lights with her, casting their bodies in gem-like glows that mimicked her own so closely. On this night an artist was born and on equally dark nights she can be found dancing around, hopping from mushroom to mushroom and shining faceted lights across the fog that wraps her in it's nightly embrace.
