About:

An Imperial of average height and on the heavier side. Outfitted with large sand gloves and shoes to traverse the sands better. Has weak lungs that can't handle the dry air of the Shifting Expanse on their own, wears Highland Scavenger apparel that was specially outfitted to assist her breathing.

Pilvi is the quiet type, due to her respiratory issues. She is tough and a bit distant sometimes, and may be cold when meeting someone for the first time. However, she works up trust quickly and strongly, and can hold such strong compassion she is willing to sacrifice her own wellbeing for others. She is hurt most when her trust is broken, but doesn't hold excessive anger.

History:

Born to a Light family taking residence at the Lightning Farms in the Shifting Expanse, where they worked on the farms as engineers.

Pilvi was frail at birth, and required special attention from her family. Through vigilant medical assistance, Pilvi managed to grow stronger, enough to catch up with her siblings of the same or similar age in terms of strength, if not even stronger. However, her lungs were the only part of her who couldn't be permanently helped. With the assistance of some Lightning engineer friends of theirs, Pilvi's parents modified some Highland Scavenger apparel for Pilvi to wear during their spare time, to help her breath easier, and to be able to actually venture out into the Shifting Expanse.

However, the medications and the modifications did not come without a price, and the family was forced into debt. The parents and a few of Pilvi's siblings doubled their work at the Lightning Farms, and the other siblings went out to get jobs, to help anyway they can.

Pilvi joined them in that, determined to pay her family back for what they've done for her. She took to raiding desert bandits and scavenging for parts and scraps, to sell them back to Lightning engineers. She was particularly good at the former, her strength and ability in magic quite above average. She continues this to this day, sending most- if not sometimes all- of what she earns back to her family.

Apis the Steam Gyre
A familiar given to Pilvi in exchange for some valuable scrap parts, Apis assists Pilvi in managing her breathing apparatus, given that part of its function is to provide properly-humidified air. Apis basically acts as the humidifier's supply of water. In exchange, Pivli provides Apis food, some shelter as her large stature act as shade from wind and sun, and protection. Pivli does not ask Apis to assist in battle.

Marsha
Pilvi's mate Marsha can be quite overbearing and overprotective of Pilvi, but Pilvi reminds Marsha she can take care of herself very well, enough to also have saved Marsha from her own disasters. However, Pilvi appreciates knowing someone like Marsha has her back. Pilvi is quite fond of Marsha, and appreciates her friendliness and willing to chatter in Pilvi's silence. Marsha's skewed moral compass gives Pilvi cause for concern. Pilvi admires Marsha's resilience in survival, but also thinks it sad how the Shifting Expanse effectively ruined Marsha's life. She helps push Marsha towards kinder decisions regarding dragons she trusts.

Marsha and Pilvi met when both attempted to raid the same bandit stash location. They messed up each other's plans, and when the bandits were alerted to their presence, had to help each other escape the half-buried cave. Having seen the other as very capable, they struck up a partnership, that through time, became more.
