Soulcatcher

Soulcatcher was a unique one at birth, wide-eyed and seeming to notice things that were otherwise invisible to the keen eye of other dragons. Her mother, Acaelus, and her father, Balsam, seemed to know somewhere within their hearts that she was no normal hatchling. After all, she had been dead at hatch-day. Some still wondered how she managed to be a part of the land of the living. Nonetheless, they were grateful for her life. She held her pearl more closely than any other Pearlcatcher, and despite her otherwise neutral colors and brightly gleaming hues, there was something unnatural about her. An air that concerned some of the elder drakes.

"Sometimes I wonder why they look at me oddly..."

She murmured to herself, before padding up to Lazulite in hopes the older Pearlcatcher could answer her questions. Lazulite closed her eyes for a moment, before answering with a note of praise in her tone.

"It's because you have a gift, child. Sargo says as much. As well as Dynamite. They know a special hatchling when they see one. And you, are most certainly a special little dragon."
