There was a time in the dark and gray. There was a time where his feet fell and touched spongy flesh at every step; where there was nothing but running, running in circles, running to the Wound.

Marko was not at the head of the Pack. No, he was in the behind; too large were the wings he tripped over, too bright was his hide. But he ran nonetheless. And in the front, he could see the black-and-green figure that was their Chosen One. Born of buboes, duke of death, Eymergent was his brother and his leader.

He did not know much of the world. Not enough to wish for a better life. Even still, he wished for a closer pack. Marko was not the smartest, even by a Mirror's standards, but he could feel the discomfort around him.

When Eymergent ran away, seduced and stolen by a wandering Water dragon, they were left headless. Panic ensued as if one. Marko could not help but be caught in the terror as well. What could they do now? How would they find the Wound and achieve glory? Was he to be left behind in the dust?

He was afraid, leaderless, disliked by his clan and soon to die. So he followed his leader, and ran - to the south, where he could smell sweet air and feel good sunlight.

The Wind dragons did not know what to make of him at first, but Marko was welcomed, as all travellers were. He learned about music, and he learned about the piano, and he worked with both quite well. He had a lovely voice, and a knack for songwriting. Funny songs, sad songs, love songs; he could write them all.

He made a Tundra laugh, once. He's been making her giggle for a few years, now, and all their children too.

When Eymergent and his wife came to the Plateau, they were welcomed with open arms. Marko and Alanna and Hazel became the Magic Mirror's source of songs, challenging the notion of silent MIrrors and quiet Tundras with their often raunchy lyrics that leave the whole tavern hooting.

He can't even imagine going back to the Boneyard, but sometimes, he wonders if he could rescue anyone left there.
