Loyalty: Theia
"They say Justice is blind. How ironic."
Gilderoy is a Justice of the High-Court, meaning he is the one of the three most prominent members of Verglas Shores' judicial system. He is in charge, alongside his two colleagues Serafina and Xenith, of ruling on conflicts that may rise between the citizens of the stead. Gilderoy commands his position with wisdom and patience, always studious on matters both basic and complex.
He is completely blind and relies on his other senses and on Cassandra, his trusted companion, who acts as his watchful eyes and dedicated reader, to go about his daily routine. Though his condition does not make life easy, Gilderoy has grown accustomed to it over the years and has duly adapted, often going as far as making quick remarks on his situation, shocking those unaccustomed to his sarcastic quips. Gilderoy is greatly respected for his experience and composure, and frequently hosts gatherings and symposiums to share the knowledge he holds. When he is not engaged in his duties, Gilderoy can mostly be found within his chambers, sorting through motions and decisions, or with Kodiak in his library, studying and discussing bygone legal theories. |
A Walk Down Memory Lane
WIPPPPPPP
Gilderoy was raised in a well-educated, forward-thinking family, who never saw his blindness as an impediment, but rather as an extra step that required certain adaptations. And so adapt they did, as one does countless times throughout the years. They were a family of scholars, after all, and so if anyone could learn, their names were to be placed at the very top of the list.
- Became interested in law
- When the Inquisition of Light originally gained power, he was a strong voice against the movement, believing in the democracy of thought, culture and study
- Was exiled and became an international legal voice against autoritative regimes
- Was Seraphina's professor at some point idek???
- Was a critic of Theia's parents but after seeing the violence of the Inquisition of Light did not favour revolt. After knowing of Theia's survival and her new ideal, which differed in substance from those employed by her parents, moved to Verglas Shores
