Iridessa isn't actually alive; but she isn't dead, either. She's something akin to a ghost or a phantom. Or a waking fever dream. She appears in and out of dreams at will, and is often accompanied by a soft, nostalgic tune that differs depending on the person.

Some say she's the manifestation of guilt or greed. Others say she's the physical representation of one's dreams. Whether this is true or not, no one really knows.She takes on a number of appearances, but is most commonly seen as a female Pearlcatcher with a skull face, no wing membranes and the absence of a pearl. Through a tragic happenstance, her beloved pearl was destroyed. She was overtaken with grief, to the point of being driven mad. She began to hallucinate random objects as her pearl. Any round or semi-round object she believed to be her pearl, even eggs. She left her previous clan due to her fragmented mind, wandered the lands alone, before she finally let her sorrow and grief consume her.

Theories float around those who hear of her. Anything from she's just a myth and not real to she's a ghost driven crazy by the loss of her pearl to she's an alien. No one's entirely sure what the real story is, because Iridessa rarely speaks to those she visits.

On the off chance she does speak, her voice is low, smooth, but with just a hint of... something, that makes one feel uneasy, like she's just seen your death and is awaiting the moment when the reaper takes you.
