Biography

(needs formatted)
The icy cold mountains and valleys of the Southern Icefields was not a good nurturing land to Ivorwen. As an ice dragon, she had a natural immunity to the cold but the biggest issue was that there was no one around for miles when she was young. Meeting other clans was rare and brief. Only meeting to trade much needed items such as food and fabrics and metal. She never had many friends either, being one of the only children in her clan not sent off to somewhere else. Thus, she never had signing lessons or anyone to tell her she was doing it wrong. No one that was a dragon or intelligent beast, anyway. To spend her seemingly infinite free time, Ivorwen sand to the animals. It was humming at first, gentle notes that leaked from her throat until it developed slowly into a gentle song. The animals all seemed to like it as well as the odd fairy or two. Before long, Ivorwen had attracted nearly every animal in the surrounding area to her. She kept the smallest ones, letting them hand from her body and wings, clinging to her for warmth in the cold and enjoying her smooth song.

The dragons of her clan hated her voice. They hated hearing her sing. It wasn’t that they had anything against the young dragon, it was just that her voice was scratchy and rough to their ears. Her singing was never in tune with any natural arrangement of music and that way she sand attracted vermin that would devour all the food the clan was storing for the harsher winter months. Her parents, with pain, knew their daughter had to leave. They didn’t realize the animals weren’t going to eat anything in the clan, Ivorwen had kept them all under good control and was only sharing her own rations but the decision was made and it was harsh: she was exiled. Taking what little belongings she had, Ivorwen left her home. She could not take the creatures she had attracted with her song with her either, so she had to shed them at the docks and sent the fairies home. Alone on her journey over the water, Ivorwen had no idea what to do or where to go. She stopped in the Windswept Plateau for a while, practicing her song there and finding more animals attracted to her. She wandered north after that, continuing her singing until animals were clinging to her in fear of her leaving them.

Traveling was a little more difficult after gaining so many new friends but she persisted until she came to the Starfall Isles, bent on finding a clan that didn’t mind her strange voice or companions. She had found one clan that seemed to be struggling with a particular dragon. Feeling as if she could help, Ivorwen quickly approached them, being told to stay back unless she had something else that was purple. Much to her surprise, the seemingly feral dragon had many purple items about them but it wasn’t enough. Ivorwen began to sing. It was the only thing she knew how to do to calm animals that were in distress. Much to her, and everyone else’s surprise, Nahkiitei had calmed down enough to be consoled with her purple items during the song. Almost immediately, Nahkiitei and Ivorwen became close friends. The other clan members were surprised and quickly offered Ivorwen a place to stay in the clan if she could keep Nahkiitei calmed down. Of course, Ivorwen agreed to the plan. She needed a place to stay anyway. She asked about her animals, how they would be treated. She had lost a few when she had left the Windswept Plateau, but a few had decided to stay with her. The clan didn’t care, as long as she did her duty.

Life turned out fine for Ivorwen. She spent her days singing towards the forest, attracting many creatures after several years. Fairies that followed her home, frogs and cats and birds and snakes that clung to her scales ad mane. Many things had seemed to have happened to the clan since she has arrived but she has become a stable figure to the clan members. A dragon that is rather odd but, aren’t they all? Everyone has their quirks and hers just so happens to be her voice and the attraction animals have to her. A bonus is her friendship with Nahkiitei. After their first meeting, they got along splendidly, now, just being around each other makes the two happy. No one can explain what the friendship is even based on but it works for them both. Who can complain to that? Ivorwen’s very presence is now comforting to Nahkiitei, something that the clan is also grateful for. When Nahkiitei is in distress for whatever reason, all the clan needs to do is get something purple or find Ivorwen. An easy solution that is good for both of the rather strange dragons.
