Biography

Generation 3

Maria had always been quite the rebellious creature, ever since she was a little hatchling. Born to Isana, the clan's sage, she was the youngest of three, and, along with her siblings, was slated to continue the legacy of the Celestial Runners.

To the youngling, it felt as if her whole life had been already laid out for her ever since she was born, with her having little choice in the matter. Both her siblings left to serve the Gladekeeper eventually, yet she remained behind, unable to escape the fate that had been planned for her.

She went along with it, for a while. She learned the skills of a Celestial Runner from her mother, and even found out that she was far more talented than Isana at magic, especially the kind that allowed her to predict the future. When she came of age, she began to accompany the clan's guard in the wilderness, training for combat.

It was then that her rebellious nature began to show.

Maria would easily escape the care of the warriors, and disappear for days on end. She would roam dense forests and plains that stretched, endless, towards the horizon. She would bathe in rivers with crystal clear waters, and lay beneath the night sky, counting the stars for hours. Once, as she was flying over the Sea of a Thousand Currents, she met a small party of adventurers; a rag-tag team of misfits, the scars of a long life filled with hardship etched on the scales of each and every one of them. Their mage, a small, stoic fae, helped Maria hone her divination skills; the young skydancer was ever so grateful to her.

Back in Silverbark Glade, though, nobody ever knew where she went. The clan would be in an uproar while she was missing, and whenever she returned, the fights that started between her and her mother would be legendary. The years-old resentment Maria had held for Isana had finally began to bloom, and, day after day, the young skydancer's explosive temperament widened the rift between the two.

One fateful day, Isana, sick and tired of her daughter's antics, decided to forbid Maria from ever training with the guard again. That had been the final straw for the young skydancer; she ran away from the clan that very night, taking with her all her belongings. She left no note telling of where she was going, and no tracks that would allow one to follow her.

Exalting Maria to the service of the Windsinger will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
