When Grudge was born, his father was immediately slain. His mother, Lucifer, was a proud, ruthless ruler. To see that she had hatched a peculiar, silly creature such as Grudge was too much for her. Grudge crawled from the pool of his father's remains and left to face the terrors of the Scarred Wasteland alone.
Despite his looks, Grudge is a very serious dragon. He is unaware that many dragons laugh behind his back at his appearance. If it is ever suggested to him that he is ridiculous, he will give a bizarre answer along the lines of, "Laughter is their weakness. It makes one weak, to laugh, weak in the knees. I am never weak. My knees are of steel!"
His excessive focus on being strong stems from having to be so at an early age. Young Grudge lived off the carrion of other dragons for awhile and became exceedingly good at stealing the eyes of corpses. Grudge will go on for hours about the nutritional value of eating eyes, if one were to bring it up.
His loyalty to Elfsbane is resolute. He serves under Serpent as a loyal solider. There is no mission he will not take. He is a dragon without fear. As an adult, Grudge excels at crushing the bones of his enemies with his powerful legs. The sounds of shattering limbs fill the battlefield when he is around.
Because of his propensity for being a bit much for most dragons, Grudge had been mostly alone. This did not bother him, for the solitude of a solider's life had always seemed right for him. Very recently, a desert rain frog found its way into his hood. Instead of mashing it to bits, or swallowing the creature whole, Grudge had fallen instantly for the warty beast.
Grudge dotes on this frog as most would a dog. He takes it everywhere with him, feeds it treats, and even has a leash for it. He has named this frog EXODIA THE FORBIDDEN ONE. He will gladly tell you the entire story of when he and Exodia met. As with many things involving Grudge, it is best not to ask.
