One windy, stormy, snowy night, the dragons of Clan Fyresta stumbled upon a strange figure. A tiny Spiral hatchling, shaking and shivering, his purple Shadow eyes glazed over with fear. He stared right through Solestus, as if he didn't even see the Patriarch. The hatchling's wings were bent at an odd angle, covered in blood. Immediately concerned for his wellbeing, they rushed him back to their camp and into the infirmary. Weeks of recovery proved successful- or at least slightly. Named Siall by Catina, which means "the unlucky", once the Spiral could form coherent words, everyone waited to hear what had happened. But Siall couldn't bring himself to tell them. He couldn't form words or speech about the event, whatever it was that had shocked the poor dragon so badly it was if he couldn't even speak of what happened. It wasn't a question of whether Siall was staying or not- a unanimous vote out of all the dragons proved they all felt equally led to protect the young, skittish Spiral. They raised him as a group effort, his main caretakers being Catina and, surprisingly, Chrono. The Time Traveler claimed that Siall had a great destiny, and the Ridgeback wanted to be there to see it unfold. So Siall grew up under the guidance of the unusual Time Traveler and the cheerful Catina. Siall's nervousness didn't vanish as he grew older, and as a teen, he, unfortunately, became even more scared of everything. He struggles with serious trust issues, and it takes a long time to win him over. His wings were permanently damaged in his past, and so he cannot fly properly anymore. He is trying to teach himself how to fly again. When Siall was nearing adulthood, a temperamental Imperial arrived into the camp. Jiahao, the massive fire-wielding Imperial, was quite possibly Fyresta's strangest addition yet. Siall was terrified of the huge dragon at first, of course, and avoided him the best he could. But by chance, Siall and Jiahao began to realize that though they had nothing in common, they were a great team. Fire and ice. Jiahao's notorious temper seemed to settle as Siall's nervous wreck of a personality calmed him, and even sometimes made him laugh. The two became good friends, and though Siall never recovered from his traumatic past, Jiahao managed to show him that he didn't have to be afraid of everything. And Jiahao overcame his own traumatizing past, with the help of his mate Yara, and the three have been a dynamic duo ever since. Other than his friendship with Jiahao and Yara, Catina is also a very important figure in Siall's messed-up life. Siall is plagued by nightmares, and she helps him overcome these terrifying dreams, soothing him and giving him cups of tea and motherly love when he needs them. Siall's trauma and PTSD might be strong, but at least he has many dragons to help him cope. But the real story behind Siall's trauma is a different matter indeed... Siall watched his father die before his eyes by the doing of his mother. Perhaps being the son of an assassin wasn't exactly the best start, but at least Siall had a loving father. His icy mother, however, was a bit different. Siall and Bluten, his father, were lured out into the woods, where Siall watched his father mercilessly murdered in cold blood. He managed to escape, but not without his injuries. We can only hope Siall someday recovers. ྿
