Biography

A founding member of the Mireguard when it was still known as the Eclipse Corps, Kelisea is a well known face within the town. Arriving to the original location of Nightmire within the plains of the Sunbeam ruins with a chip on her shoulder, the wildclaw immediately established herself as well enough a wild card in the monster plagued town. Drawn in by the advertisements seeking warriors to help make the streets a bit safer to walk. Strolling right up to the town's leader, Kelisea didn't question for a minute whether she'd be taken in for the position. She didn’t need to win honor or power, in her mind she already had it, she just needed everyone else to catch up and notice.

She and Maxie, the original captain of the Mireguard, at first didn’t get along. Her brash approaches, irresponsibility, and lack of respect towards his authority setting the two off on the wrong claw. He didn't deny she was good at her job, but unfocused, untempered. Out of control minecart rides, having to run from rolling logs, and hoping her neighbor will forgive and forget the burned flower garden. She's always operated at a thousand miles an hour, seeming to be twenty steps ahead in a plan that she isn’t even sure of, often fidgeting and pacing.

Off duty, Kelisea is just as raucous and rowdy. Often seen in the local tavern she loves to regale others with her battle stories and, oh, did she ever mention the time she took an entire Hydra by herself?!

She took the threats spawning from the cursed ground surrounding town as nothing but a fun challenge to her skills at first. Barely did she ever saddle herself with actually teaming up with anyone from the barracks. Only knocked to her senses when she was quite literally knocked flat by a behemoth that nearly took her down. Maxie's intervention the only thing that saved her scales, she at least wasn't too prideful to recognize he maybe had a point about her being a little too reckless...

It took a good long while, and a few lessons in humility (few of which took) before the warrior settled into the position she has now. Her level head and willingness to put her own neck on the line when the Twin Cities were destroyed by Luminax's emergence earning her more leeway and respect. Teamwork another hard won lesson as the survivors struggled their way to the edge of the world.

When Maxie finally handed the reigns off to Cadeyrn, only then did Kelisea take up the mantle of second in command, one of the scarce few of the original Corps who even survived the destruction of the cities. She still wasn't too keen on all this responsibility nonsense- but with how big of a stick in the mud their new boss was? Shoot the place could go to pot if there wasn't someone with some sense of humor keeping him straight! Though she still often jests that she'll one day pick up and wander off for fancier pastures if someone doesn't start listening to her plans soon...

The only creature thus far able to match her energy has been a maren spearhunter, Genevieve, that the wyrm met on a trip to the nearby coast. After a… misunderstanding that lead to some nearly-lost scales on both sides before the two managed to come to an understanding. Spearheaded by Kelisea’s bumbling attempts to brag about her battling accomplishments (you know, warrior to warrior right?) which expanded into Geniveve absolutely insisting she could totally best some big stupid lizard in a mer to drake brawl.

And after managing to lose despite Genevieve “not even having legs” the stubborn dragon managed to set up rematch after rematch… after… well the tenacity is a little endearing… it’s getting late and maybe you can stay in the cove for the night…

Finding someone to share her days away with curbed Kelisea’s out of control nature at least a little, though, she still occasionally tries to recover from her horrific losing streak. (She’ll get it this time, she swears.)

(forum response to being asked if a plan has ever gone badly)

Kelisea nearly chokes on her drink trying not to spit it out. Just barely managing otherwise, the wildclaw coughs out a few barking laughs before catching her breath. “Buddy- that is a hard question to answer. Do you want the top twenty or just the top five?” she snorts. As she drawls on there’s an unabashed confidence to the way Kelisea speaks and carries herself. Confidence that would almost seem foolish if she didn’t look like she had the muscle to back it up, and the scars to prove it.

She fiddles with her bandana a bit seemingly having to think about it. The wildclaw’s claws set off tapping against her mug as she sits trying to categorize, and muttering to herself. “There was operation teach a manticore to use dynamite, that was one of my worse ones. That whole situation with the gaggle of Rocs. Or that time I agreed to a scuffle with Genevieve… underwater... you’d think I’d know that was a bad idea being a fire dragon and all.”

Kelisea suddenly seems to realize she’s getting off on a tangent, and her unfocused gaze returns back to the group. Her tapping at the same time altogether stopping.

“Lets just say there’s a reason I got the title 'sheriff bad decisions’ back home.” she chuckles, a bit of pride in her voice, even. “Hell’s bells just last month I managed to set off a stampede of Elk through the middle of town trying to help our animal wrangler move em’ to another pasture. Still workin off the property damage. Scared half the town awake too since it was first thing in the morning. Cripes is our town leader a beast if you wake him up too sudden.”

Taking a sip of her drink, she nods to someone to her other side. “What about you? You a morning person, or you like to sleep in?”
