Biography

Illiad Shimmerlight
The Heretical Son
A dragon born of both the light and the plague, Illiad was stolen away from Grim by his mother who, at the time, was under the possession of a cursed sword that had drove her mad causing the split and migration of Clan Nightglade to the Scarred Wasteland before his hatching.

She tried to raise him as a Light dragon, binding his eyes closed with a wrap so that he wouldn't be able to see himself nor what his mother was doing. At the time he was young enough that he needed her guidance and thus questioned nothing that she was doing as he didn't know much else.

One day he was fed up with being in the dark. Fed up with just going along with what he was told. The blindfold was ripped away from his face and all he saw for a moment was white. When his eyes were able to focus he saw who he truly was.

Illiad confronted his mother, who threatened to strike him down for his insolence. In his anger though, he struck first before fleeing towards the direction of the Scarred Wasteland. Too wounded to chase after, Bellatrix laid there heartbroken and bitter.

It wasn't long before Illiad found his father and the clan he was suppose to be born into. At first he overcompensated and dressed in as much plague-like garb as he could during Nightglade's stay in their sister Flight's lands.

And thanks to Illiad's mortal wounding of Bellatrix, the clan was able to retake their home.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Illiad, having finally found his own identity beyond "Plague", now follows along his father's footsteps to learn how to be a leader. He's truly unsure how, or even IF his father could die but he wishes to be prepared.
He's a fairly quiet skydancer, preferring to let his actions speak for him though he won't turn down a conversation if it particularly interests him. He also leads the clan's artillery force, providing aid through cover fire.
He also tends to carry the skull of a fallen dragon whose soul seems to still be trapped within.
