Ashler wasn't always the leader of a high-end mob. He use to be one of the kindest dragons in his hometown. He was almost always seen with his little sister, whether it was at the park or walking her to and from school. He use to be the one dragon anyone could ask for help and he'd give it. Growing up, his family was very poor. His father was big into drugs and got arrested, leaving him, his mother and his sister to fend for themselves. His mother worked three jobs and was rarely home. She still loved them, but she had to take the undesirable hours and it kept her from her children. But the three jobs just wasn't enough to support them. She ended up having to take a rather... undesirable job to keep Ashler and Hazard fed. But it wasn't as bad as one might think. Her employers were kind to her. Her co-workers always offered to take the night off to babysit if she needed them to. Her boss, Markus, adored Ashler and Hazard, and they adored him. Markus was like a father to them. Ashler's kind demeanor changed when his and Hazard's lives were thrown into danger. A mob, one apparently with a grudge against Markus, staged an attack at the building where he ran his businesses He and his men began to lead the workers to safety. Hazard, being the innocence she was, went back for her beloved mouse plushie. Ashler ran in after her, and they witnessed the murder of their mother. Markus was (thankfully) able to pull them out of the area. He went into hiding with the two children in tow. They stopped by their old house, grabbed their belongings and they went off the grid for nearly six years. They came out of hiding when Ashler and Hazard finally grew up and sought to get revenge. Ashler created the Wildclaw mob, with Hazard and Markus as members. They started out as a trio that did peoples' dirty work. Mostly taking care of problem dragons and guarding people. They began to pick up members here and there and before they knew it, they had a mob. Once they were big enough and had enough reputation, they began searching for the mob responsible for Ashler and Hazard's mom. After several years, Markus eventually passed and they held a funeral for him. While Ashler was disappointed that Markus wouldn't be able to witness the death of the dragon they searched for, he knew that he would be watching from above. Along the way, Hazard fell ill and they were unable to figure out why, whether it be lack of medical knowledge or the fact they'd never been sick during their childhood. Ashler, desperate to cure his sister, put out an ad asking for any and all medical professionals to come and try and help her. Only one answered the call. Amblygonite was quick to arrive on the scene with various vaccines, medicines and even some herbs from Gaia. She quickly deduced it was smallpox. Thankfully, she had medicine for it. Hazard was on her way to recovering within a couple of hours. Ashler tried to pay her, but she refused, saying that it was enough to see Ashler so relieved. He was irritated but accepted this and said that he'd owe her and her family a favor. A favor which later became a protection pact with the mob. As the Wildclaw mob grew, the number of rival gangs did as well. Nearly all of them became violent and aggressive, attacking anyone who dared to breathe in the direction. The Wildclaw Manor was targeted when Viburnum accidentally insulted a large mob leader. Of course, he didn't mean to- he only pointed out that his crooked jaw looked funny. The gang surrounded the Manor during the day (having knowledge of Mihangel only being animate during the night) and was preparing an attack. Lilith, one of the Wildclaw mob members, noticed the large group and relayed it to Ashler. Of course, under normal circumstances, Ashler wouldn't have cared. However, Lilith recognized the Wildclaw who saved Hazard, and they sprung into action. After that, Ashler began to have personal conflictions. He wanted to continue to search for the gang who killed his mother, but he also wanted to protect the family that saved his sister. While they stayed in the manor to recover from the fight, Ashler became acquainted with the family. After learning Viburnum was abandon as a hatchling because of his speak problem, he began to actively engage in helping the child. He found himself becoming the father he never had. After personal debate, he decided that he decided to stay in town to protect the family from more inevitable gang attacks. There is currently a gang war between Ashler's gang and the other large gang in town. |
