The first born son of Midnight and Dreamer, Mystic was hatchling the stars gossiped about for centuries. His mother even suspected his egg was different. Being born with thrice the amount of arcane energy of the Arcane rep in the clan, Mystic was a protege mage; the moment he opened his eyes, all the falling meteors of their home froze in place. Mystic was immediately taken to see the clan matriarch and patriarch. As soon as Vanial's eyes met the hatchling, he could tell this dragon's future shines with the stars.

Mystic's sisters Fable and Destiny were much smaller than their brother, since he was the first imperial child of the Midnight Dreamers. His eyes were always lit with curiosity and wonder. day by day he became a charismatic leader of his siblings, and even taught telepathy to them.

But something else stirred the cosmos of this youngster, the factions (or Houses) of his clan. Though barely a day old, Mystic was always eavesdropping on council meetings, intrigued by the dynamics of each faction an what role his own family played in the puzzle. Why were there so few of them compared to the others? And why didn't they agree with alliances amidst themselves? All these question Mystic asked his mother, who care for him deeply, but as she looked into his eyes, the truth became too great. "My child," she whispered, holding him close as the council meeting went on, "For a long time now, your father was afraid of mingling with the other factions. You see, the arcane energy here is higher than most clans, but none born had actually shown any effects of it, none except you. Your father feared that the exchange of powers and elemental alliances could diminish the amount of power in arcane." Floored by this news, Mystic stumbled out of her grasp and into the center of the council, fear gripping his heart. His parents truly feared that? He shook his head in disbelief, his little arms flared up, wings agape, "But mommy! All dragons born here will be arcane, no matter what. What difference would it make if darkness and light allied, plagues and nature heal each other, and fire no longer feared water and wind… All magic should be happy together. That's what the Arcanist told me before I got here!" The council fell silent. All eyes, heads, and ears turned on Mystic. Every elemental rep, House leader, and ambassador stared in amazement. The clan Arcane rep (Ironically a shadow fae) Mew shoved forward, fear and concern in his gaze. "Young mage, you've met the Arcanist?"
Mystic stammered, not realizing the significance of his words, "Y-Yes I have…"
