"You are inexcusably weak. I will fix that."
- Antaios

Mate: None
Subspecies: Skinless

The Sparring Partner
Antaios's sister, Atropos came to define him, in spite of how much he resented her. Next to her he and his brothers went essentially unnoticed. Of course, he would later gain some perspective on this - this is how all of Grabal's children made most of the other young dragons feel.

In their early training he served as her sparring partner, and later, once she had become too good for him to beat alone, his other two brothers would fight her alongside him. Though long before they even approached adulthood, he or his sister could have taken on most of the adults in the clan, they were never really allowed to know that.
Antaios's resentment suited him. As he grew he quickly became known for his foul and stubborn temperament. He would fight anyone at the least provocation, be they weaker or stronger than he. They were mostly weaker.

Antaios was also very watchful and keen. He came to a sister after a day in which she had endured particularly harsh cruelties and challenged her to fight him. She refused, and he persisted by attacking her. By this point, she had been accustomed to winning against him, but this time he won. After that, he lay down beside her in their chamber under the cliffs and listened while she poured out curses upon all living things which she did not like. He was not one of the things she complained about.

He did not resent his sister. He realized he had never really resented her. He had always loved her dearly. It was Sinflayer he resented.

The Good Brother
When it became apparent that Atropos was unhappy with the direction Sinflayer had chosen for her life, he eagerly leapt at the chance to defy it.

He had no idea how to go about doing that, however. His first plan was that the two of them would run away. A rather fanciful idea. He went to Finnigan, with the idea that the Coatl could help them disappear, but was turned away. Finn would not defy Sinflayer, who not only outranked him but was exceedingly more powerful and quite terrified him.

Antaios then sought to find a dragon who outranked Sinflayer to help and found himself before the king. After laughing in the young dragon's face, Sovri agreed to make alternate arrangements for him and his sister, but only if Antaios could beat Sinflayer.

So, Antaios went to the Judge. That he realized, was the only real option he had ever had, and it suited him. Sinflayer formalized their disagreement and accepted his challenge. He fought her. He lost. It wasn't that he was weak. He was simply too young to make an effective challenge. He challenged her again, though to do so was to risk his life. Sinflayer would have to kill him if he fought her again. Not wanting to waste such a magnificent dragon in that way, she instead chose to order his exile.

His exile into the Boneyard resulted in a severe diminishing of his sister's status. Sovri stepped in to remedy the situation. Better the two powerful warriors serve a smaller clan, one which they could help propel to greatness, than for them to languish in exile or suffer low rank in a clan of power where they could have no influence.... He had already made the arrangements quite a long time ago, as it happened....

The Skinless Warriors
So the two came to a new home, one which they had been able to have a hand in choosing. Though the two came to it, not yet fully adults, they had the power and fury between them to serve as suitable guardians. Besides, if it did not work out, they would be together, at least.

Antaios has no particular love or loyalty to the black mirror whose home they have come to reside in. Atropos seems happy though, so that is fine... of course, few other dragons would realize how much the two mean to each other since they outwardly appear to hate everything the other does.
