History
Glae's pursuits as a warrior need not be recounted here. Any hatchling could tell you of the dark terror who single handily held the entire Astrolodome to seige, or how he raided the rimebone stockade, or how he walked right up to the tidelord and tweaked his nose.*Few know of how he ended up guarding a swamp deep within the Stricken's lair.
On one fairly ordinary day the clan were raiding in the World Edge Wetlands when like a bolt from the blue he clapped eyes on his Charge. He had long given up ever finding it, but there it was a perfect little swamp. He began to guard it and assumed that the others would accept this.
Aldera would not lose her strongest warrior without a fight however. They nearly killed each other in their battle (It is said that he is the only dragon to ever leave a mark on Aldera, though other say this was due to the fact she was trying not to kill him). Aldero managed to separate them and encouraged her to use her head rather than her claws. For some years she put the clans considerable resources behind the project eventually finding a solution with Delphinium the enigmatic witch doctor. Moss the druidess was necessary hire for the plan and was sent to persuade Glae of the benefit to his charge.
He was intractable but daily she came to debate him. A battle of wits was new to him, her passion for life was new to him, and she showed him a new world. It was some time before he admitted that he loved her and some time after that before he could admit her plan was solid.
The swamp was moved into the lair. It is a perfectly contained ecosystem deep within Skaðihöll. Strange magics give it its own day and night cycle and seasons matching the wetlands. It is full of frogs, a resident swamp witch**, vegetation, and Glae.
He doesn't battle much any more, but anyone who would threaten Skaðihöll and by extension his swamp would surely be destroyed.
*The author notes that the historical record may be inaccurate in this case.
** Orleans had been living in the swamp at the time and was not consulted about the move nor is she especially pleased.
