Nightwatch: It is the duty of a nightwatch member to ensure the clan is safe at night. They will patrol the lair with their lantern on the lookout for the attacks of shade infested creatures and other dangers to the clan. They must also maintain their lanterns and ensure that they can communicate basic messages to each other from long distance using their lanterns.

Since Zoran can’t remember much of anything he is left to tend the bonfire in the middle of the lair at night. When he strays away from the fire Ursa sends another member of the nightwatch to meet up with him search the area and then guide him back to the campfire. To everyone’s surprise Zoran can remember self-defense easily despite his poor memory.

Zoran's headdress is a symbol of gratitude. He wears it in memory of events passed.

Because he cannot remember where everything is he spent most that he is working following the direction of Aurora the head inventory manager. In anyone else this might irritate Aurora, but because he is a plague dragon Aurora tolerates it. Later on she drew a map for him to save her the trouble of telling him where to go. Even then he had trouble remembering where his map was, so Aurora let him go and he became a nightwatchmen.
