B I O G R A P H Y

There's a story in these parts, about a land where weyrs full of dragons defend the world from itself, preserving the Gladekeeper's domain with fire. Ramoth, from birth, was raised to believe she would bring these stories back to life. She was golden and seemingly a gift from the Gladekeeper herself, so the dragons who took Ramoth in knew her for the queen she was.

When it came time for Ramoth to leave and strike out on her own, it didn't take long for her to find her charge. An empty stretch of land where all life had been razed to the ground by disaster tugged at her heart, and she set to work. Alone, Ramoth cleaned the land of debris and began to coax life out of the ground again and encourage friendly creatures to come and live as they should. Some were beasts, not dragons, but sure enough dragons did start to arrive. First among them was bronze Mnementh, who claimed her for his charge the moment he set eyes on her. It took Ramoth longer to accept his love, but accept she did, and together they began to repopulate their broken but recovering weyr with dragons.

Now, the weyr has grown in more ways than one. The land is ever-increasing, as is its bounty. Dragons of all kinds flock here for sanctuary and peace, and Ramoth allows them to stay so long as they accept her leadership and do their duty by the weyr. Mnementh is always by her side, though he would never dare to overrule her authority; he is a quiet enforcer and her steadfast companion. Ramoth leads by example, and encourages those under her care to love one another and to increase their numbers much as she does. One day they will need all these dragons to protect their home; she knows this for a fact.
