STORY Theme A: Sorrow // Theme B: Obsession The forest resonated with the sound of startled animals and falling trees, and then there was silence. Silence and an unusual dragon, unconscious on the clan's very doorstep. Shiori had seen him coming, and warned the dragons now clustered around him that there was no telling what his intentions were and of what he was capable. Restraints were placed--redundant though they looked, considering the strange ribbons already wrapped around him--and the wait began. Several of the braver hatchlings, despite numerous warnings, stole up to prod one of the strange dragon's nine furry tails. Meanwhile, Min read her bones for insight into the new arrival's situation, but none was forthcoming. They claimed he was both exceedingly powerful and utterly weak, which of course was nonsense. Unless... Apocryphon is a restless dragon, familiar with both fury and melancholy. His magic is bound tightly within him, a humming core which he cannot pierce--the consequence of a curse sustained during battle. His is a calm and perceptive intellect, reinforced by centuries' worth of wisdom, and he gained great respect from other thinkers in the clan almost overnight. Despite her initial fears, Shiori swiftly came around and can often be found engaged in conversation with him--or simply listening to him talk. But not all is well with Apocryphon. The leadership is still suspicious of him, and many whisper that he does not truly have the clan's best interests at heart. None know who he is or how and why he came to be in such a state. Min is greatly interested in his condition and in his potential; she thinks she can help him, and promises whatever aid she can give. But what might the method be, and what its price? Will he be willing to sacrifice if need be, and can he trust his dubious benefactor? More importantly... can his benefactor, and her clan, trust him? |

IMPERIAL The Imperial breed originated from The Beacon of the Radiant Eye, though the species seems conspicuously absent from its point of origin.  These giants are among the largest of the known dragons. Each imperial possesses a long serpentine body, short forelegs, lanky hind legs, and an impressive pair of fringed leather wings. With the exception of their wings and inner ears, Imperials are covered in shining scales from snout to tail. Each wyrm boasts a coarse mane that must be trimmed regularly, and a pair of many-pronged antlers that are shed and consumed each season. |

CURSED TENKO All of these foxes have reached their thousandth year and are at the height of their power. It takes a very long time for dragon-kitsune to reach this level, and their strength is rightly feared and respected. These ancient nine-tails are even said to have the power to visit the dead.  Cursed tenko are tenko who have been cursed by their enemies for some misdeed or whose souls have been warped. Cursed Tenko can be seekers of redemption or swords of vengeance. Since it is difficult to tell which one is which, they are often avoided. Some Tenko clans go to great lengths to aid cursed tenko who seek to break their curses, and imprison those who have fallen. It is not uncommon for a cursed tenko to experience changes in eye color or the emergence of heterochromia.
