She is known as the Lady Of The Bog by many, a name that she has well earned. Many fall victim to her allure and her shimmering blue scales. However, they’ll find that as quickly as they allow her to get what she is after, be it luxurious clothing or secrets, she will do anything but give herself away in order to obtain them. She tends to be wary of physical affection, afraid of one day being outsmarted by someone who would be able to match wits with her ways as a con artist. But she has little to worry about; those who she lures in are often times already vulnerable, and she’s too pretty to be suspicious. She knows it. It’s her weapon. One day, she happened to meet a tundra named Philomelus, who wanted more than her one-night stands with him. Instead, he felt that he was in love with her. Desponia’s crucial strength and weakness both lies in her inability to settle down. She loathes the condition that she may become dependent on somebody, or that they may become dependent on her, and that was what this tundra had done. She knew that she had to rid herself of him, any way possible. She was able to discover a way to forcibly exalt him – All she had to do was create his portrait and send it to the Shadowbinder, which she did joyfully. She grinned a sick, sharp-toothed smile as she told him the news, and observed with glee as he hurried off to flee the Seekers. One less problem to deal with. The Lady Of The Bog doesn’t do anything quietly, not now, not ever, and Philomelus just happened to be another example of her hate to be held back by anyone. She found it hard to convince herself to be willing to set down her horde in a patch of wood, hating the idea that she was committing herself. But her horde had to grow, and she needed a place to put her valuables where they wouldn’t be stolen. Now, she was free to travel far and wide, to seduce many other foolish dragons, and to add fine materials to her horde. She savored, in particular, fine and exquisite clothing, as she was appreciative towards all of the impressive work that was put in to each and every article. Tricking those into getting her what she wanted became more fun than ever. Disliked the entire concept of a Charge altogether, but knew better than to tell the latter to the world and keeps it to herself. ( So yes, flings are common and she is no stranger to seduction. ) Uses distaste for dependency to veil her discomfort of settling down; fears that committing to a charge means that she has to restrain her own freedom and ability to enjoy things now that she has something that she is supposed to put above her own happiness. So in short, if anyone tries to tie her down without her consent she will not hesitate to retaliate. In general, really, she does not hesitate to throw the truth in other's faces. She isn't cynical, mind you - but the world works in certain ways and it is stupid for one to try and run away from facing it. So when Philomelus ( my second progen that is yknow usually used for tutorial breeding ), a Tundra who was much more insistent than her previous one night stands and considered her as his one and true love and would not back off, she did not hesitate to forcibly exalt him by the traditional Shadow Flight way via creating his portrait without his knowing and happily sending it to the Shadowbinder herself so she can send her seekers. She smiled as she delivered the news to him and watched gleefully as he fled from her current hunting grounds at the time. She does not like to do things quietly. Everything she puts her effort into will be grand or have grand results; she likes to preen in the end knowing that it was her own effort that had caused the aftermath. ( Whether that aftermath is good or bad depends on what she's particularly feeling that day. ) This also applies to how she carries herself; she is always groomed and her appearance well kept. Silks and satin and all the finery she wishes, she will wear or obtain and she will get them whatever means do not involve giving herself up. So no pleasurable favors. Another reason of her wariness of physical affection is that she knows being beautiful comes with a dangerous price of being in constant threat of being assaulted. Fears the day there will be someone she can't outsmart. An escort and con artist; she knows she is beautiful and did not hesitate to weaponize it so. As an escort she allows others to look at her since she loves the attention, and as a con artist she lulls the foolish ones into her grasp and allows perhaps a touch or two before snatching whatever they held that she was after. Sometimes it was for her own whims, sometimes it was for missions. When she chose a small section of the Wood to properly store her conquests in, she huffily told herself that no, she wasn't settling, she was just making sure that no foolish dragon comes and steals what is hers, that's all. She goes out on missions to add to her collections of course, but does so travailing to far places if need be with determination to prove that she did not settle. She did not. ( And also unbeknownst to her, that horde of finery has become her charge. Ironic that in her search of enjoying life to it's fullest by collecting materialistic things, she found the one thing she was avoiding while doing so. ) She takes such good care of her silks - while she is materialistic, it is because she appreciates the work put into the creation of such fine fabrics and respects the underrated work tailors do. She is not so shallow that she likes them just because they are beautiful.
