Biography
DAYBREAK
Veteran | Nanny/Caregiver | Skydancer
Veteran | Nanny/Caregiver | Skydancer
|
Daybreak is the eldest dragon of Fort Gallagher, and the permanent partner and dragon of the namesake of the fort, Oliver Gallagher. The Great War left her a wise, yet dampened dragon, with seeming infinite love and worry for the youth. |
Backstory
"The swift brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
Pre-War
Daybreak was taken from the wild as an egg,
and hatched at the Robinson Family Breeding Facility.
Originally taken for the purposes of introducing new genes
into the breeding pool, she ultimately would be chosen for something
greater than egg laying, after the US Army would come to
the Robinson Facility, and amongst the juveniles, buy her for their research
into the viability of war dragon units.
They began testing training methods on her and other dragons as a young adult,
seeing what worked and what didn't work. Through every test, Daybreak shone
as an example of an exemplary fighter for her patience and unwavering loyalty,
and, among two other dragons, was selected for full time duty.
World War I
The Great War rolls in halfway into the decade, and after the Zimmerman Telegram
is intercepted and the US finds themselves with a very good reason to involve
themselves in the war, the Army figures its a good reason to test their new dragon units
out on the field. Daybreak is assigned to a newly trained rider, Oliver Gallagher,
and sent to France to aid them in pushing back the Germans.
While the two sides find themselves in a stalemate more often than not, Daybreak
does prove herself valuable asset, dropping bombs from above on enemy forces
and flying above for reconnaissance. More than once she find herself shot at,
and once near fatally.
