"Quote."

Guided by an ancient song and forgotten memories the God of the Moon abandons his sky and returns to earth in search of the source. It had been years since he set foot on earth. He missed the pungent scent of fresh grass and the crisp air before a storm. Thunder rumbled in the distance as he clambered through the thick wall of brambles into the shadow territory. His destination lied along the northeastern bank of the Tangled Wood. There he would find a secluded pool of black endless abyss. From within the gloomy waters echoed a familiar melancholy song. His heart began to ache as he drew closer to the pool. Could it be? Is it her? Or is this simply a trick intended to draw me here so they may finally end my life? If so then those responsible will suffer. How dare they use her this way. My love. My heart. My soul. She is gone. I know this and yet somehow I still hope. Yet I wonder why my enemies would lead me here upon on old friends doorstep? Perhaps it is he who has called me... He cautiously steps up to the pool peering into its depths. He pulls a blade from his pouch and slices a shallow cut in his palm carefully allowing one drop of blood to drip into the center of the dark water. He begins to speak as the ripples lap over the sides of the pool's stone edge. “I call upon you Lord of a Thousand Faces, Eater of Gods, and Master of the Void. I seek an audience.” As if in response the water bubbled and churned spewing over the edge until it coated his feet. Black tendrils gripped his legs and began to pull him into the depths. He did not struggle. Instead, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He felt his body being pulled into a foreign realm. He opened his eyes to a dark chamber with a dim source of light that seemed to come from nowhere. The same black water covered the floor and the only sound to be heard was the echo of his footsteps as he waded through the muck.
