Biography

”I sometimes feel bad about the dragons I’ve hunted,” they admitted. ”They had a life, most had families they will never return to, and I think to myself 'That's it, you're never hunting another dragon again'… but then I start getting hungry again. Very hungry, and I know deep down there is only one way to satisfy that hunger…”

Filipa has a special file in the Hunter's Guild's Most Wanted list, half of it is made of all the dragons she killed, both hunter and civilian. The other half of the list is speculation and questions about what they're capable of. Filipa is a solitary hunter with an emphasis on ambush strategies, and tries to avoid taking on more than one or two dragons at a time. She's very picky about the circumstances they'll hunt under, and feels no shame in fleeing if things seem like they're going south. That happens rarely though, and usually when someone hears the struggle and investigates.

...

  • Born in Shadow, travelled around before settling in Ice for a while
  • Had two husbands and several children, lost them all to Sornieth's eternal conflict
  • Contacted by the Burning Hunt, who promised freedom and power
  • Some Tundras arrived one day to ask for her service
  • She slaughtered them and ran, and the Burning Hunt considered that a pledge of loyalty
  • It wasn't incorrect
  • Nowadays Filipa spends her time in the Abiding Boneyard, ambushing unsuspecting travelers and eating them
  • Lost their leg at some point, and a Plague healer was nice enough to fashion a new leg out of the bones of Filipa's recent kill
  • In exchange, they occasionally give that healer pieces of her hunts, usually bones
  • The strength gained from eating dragon flesh can be addictive, and out of the known followers of the Burning Hunt, Filipa often has the least amount of time between hunts
  • They can't go for very long without eating another dragon, if the previous bullet made no sense
