Maru really should be living in the Starfall Isles, being the total space nerd they are. They love the cosmos more than anything, and are both terrified and amazed by it. Most of the clan mistook them as naive for believing in aliens and loving the stars as much as they do, but they really are highly educated in astronomy and astrophysics. They have studied the stars all their life, and now they roam Sornieth trying to find others like them. So when they met Aza, they decided to settle in the Soot Snout lair (and because Aza looks exactly like them like woooah what a coincidence). The two of them can be found outside every night, flying above the soot, making constellations and babbling about black holes (which are Maru's absolute favorite). They always stick together, and have been appointed to the roles of the punks of the lair, never listening to their elders. Ketu desperately wants to be friends with them but we all know that'll never happen. The two often get in arguments with other members of the clan about the existence of aliens, and it has become a sensitive topic to discuss. Often it's Mikhail and Sirin claiming that they don't exist, because if they did those crazy Arcane dragons would've found them by now. But Maru argues that considering the size of the entire universe, it would be foolish to assume that they are the only living things. Mikhail and Sirin probably know that Maru's right, but don't want to admit that the silly space nerd is actually a genius and knows way more about space than they do. Maru and Aza have made many friends since they originally settled here, and now have a fully formed squad of all the punks and rebels in the lair. Since Orion joined he's become the ringleader, being the oldest by a little and the toughest by far, and the realest punk among all of them. Syn serves as his second-in-command, rivaling Orion in toughness and ferocity. Then there's Butch (Ori's right wing) Teef, Eiji, FIZZ Lav, and Morri, the fighters. Then Maru, Aza, and Nyss, the chill ones. There's Vega, who entrances everyone, and is simply regarded as too far out of everyone's league, but they still love hanging around him. And the newest member, Nine, the eccentric graffiti artist. And last but not least, Joji, the funny one. The casual members are Europa, Cody, Twix, and MIA. On the outskirts are Rigel, who's just trying to get with Orion, Ketu (who no-one thinks is actually cool but he can be fun sometimes), Blaze (trying to establish her own cooler squad), and then Ruby, Farryn, Yoko, Izar, and Zorua, who are just regarded as cool and welcome to hang any time.
