When Ghost was born, he didn't stick out as being too different from his brothers and sisters, apart from his unusually bright hide. As he began to grow, however, it became clear that something was very wrong. He spent much of his time hiding in the nest, eyes darting from side to side as if he felt he was being watched. And at times, he would begin to scream and yell at dragons who were not there. His parents, worried for their son, did what they never thought they would do-- seek help from members of the clan.

It was after a long and drawn out period of tests and observations that Sagebrush finally made her diagnosis. Schizophrenia. Morrison and Courson weeped for their son, knowing it would not be safe for him to strike out on his own. Luckily, with patience and help from Ghost's brother and Sagebrush's apprentice, Shaman, the two herbalists developed an herbal remedy that helped to soothe his nerves and quiet the intensity of his hallucinations.

However, some of the more superstitious of the clan believe that he may not be as crazy as he seems-- they swear that he has spoken the names of dragons long-since dead; ones that he could have never met. Could it be that what haunts him is not the work of illusions, but in fact the spirits of the departed? No one in the clan can be entirely sure.
