Biography

Selene's avatar
Selene the Exalted
Selene has been searching for a long time.
She and Tharquin, when the clan was young, went out on a hunting trip together. They were overconfident in their abilities, and they strayed too far from the clan. High on their joy and excitement, they traveled far from their lair at the edge of the Starfall Isles and onto the Windswept Plateau. The wind was growing quite strong, and when Tharquin suggested that they turn back, a large gust of wind blew the small Fae away. In her mad dash through the wind to retrieve him, Selene injured her wing and tumbled off of a cliff edge, down, down into the cold ocean. She managed to make it back to shore, but her memory was gone. She had no idea where she was or what she was doing in the ocean near the Windswept Plateau; she was doomed to wander the world in search of who she was for years.
For a while, she got stuck traveling with a small pack of other mirrors across the world. There, she was a warrior, but her role didn't sit quite right with her. She knew there was somewhere she needed to be. One night, when her pack had drifted near the Starfall Isles, she knew her home had to be somewhere there. She stole away from her pack, and she wandered the Isles for weeks, not sure where to go next. As she neared her old Clan, memories began to wash back. She began to run, as fast as she could, and when she finally got to the lair...
Everyone was gone.
The cave had been abandoned, save for little scraps left behind m monsters who had sheltered there for a night or two. She knew who she was now, but where was everyone? When she made her way back to her old nest, and there she found a note addressed to her, covered in a layer of dust and full of holes made by insects. The clan had set off for a new home in the Starwood Strand, a crude map scribbled in the corner with vague directions. She made haste to the location, and upon reaching it, she called out for Tharquin. Tears filled her eyes as a slightly older version of Tharquin fluttered out of the lair. The fae hit her chest to forcefully that she thought that he might have knocked her over. Once Tharquin had stopped sobbing, he set out preparing a festival in honor of her return, as well as showing Selene all of the newcomers to the clan since her leave.
Selene is a fighter, hardened by her travels around the world. She's wiser than she was when she left, but she still has plenty of room for a good time. She's the more down-to-earth Leader of the Clan of the Shimmering Vale, though she often charges into issues head first. Extremely dependable and focused, she's the perfect match for her co-leader, Tharquin. His eccentric and excitable attitude perfectly balances with her level-headedness and tenacity. She was briefly upset with Rose for stealing her mate when she was gone, but she's since made up with her. They're quite good friends now, and they both take care of Dreamcatcher and Spider. The two can be a handful, but she handles them with ease.
