Nahiare

Despite his appearances, Nahiare is an extremely powerful warrior in the defense ranks of the clan. A skilled rogue and a decent mage, he's most often used for stealth and reconnaissance thanks to his signature spell, which allows him to command his hand-raised butterflies and see through their eyes

Vain, lighthearted, sharp-witted. Is a bit of a flirt. Enjoys comfortable dresses and jewelry, becomes especially vindictive to any foe who turns out to be skilled enough to rip his clothing during a battle. Loves beautiful things, like flowers, and the blood of his enemies.

His butterfly skill is useful, but quite intensive and he created the spell on his own. First, he needs to collect caterpillars, then he has to wait for them to spin a cocoon. Finding a pupa in the wild is no good; it's too late. Every day when it's in the pupa, he uses his water magic to set small curses on it, just enough to not interrupt its development. When it finally emerges, he has a fully controllable butterfly which he can cast a spell to see through it.

Because he requires a bug that liquefies in the pupa, it doesn't work on most other insects, or on half-butterfly familiars that remain half-caterpillar for their whole lives. The other drawback is that a butterfly doesn't usually live very long, especially not the small ones that are so useful for recon. He does have a fondness for moth-adjacent chimeras though, such as buttersnakes and crimson emperors, and he has considered if he would be able to apply his spell to a mith... but it would be so unethical that he shot the idea down completely.
