Biography
Birthday dragon ~
An outlier that has no place in this story.
Bored.
Childish.
Cruel and unforgiving.
Playing games with other's hearts just so she can rip them out.
A weight she agreed to carry upon her shoulders manifests over and over again in nightmares that roar at her.
She should go back to her duties and mind her own business.
A pretty visage as she just adds to the look of glinting buildings of marble and gold. She blends
in perfectly well as she is content to amuse herself among the mortals. In this life she takes up the name of Sonata in a body that she thinks suits her.
In the dead of night she wakes shivering in a cold sweat, gasping for breath. Her eyes search wildly for a foe that's not there. One that she has met, has already defeated, and will face off again and again many times after that.
"One more run." Her voice is wavering as she turns to gaze at the moon still high in the starlit sky. Sonata gathers herself. She remembers she is alone in her room on the world created by dragon gods, in the land of the god of Light. Sonata gets up from her bedding and heads towards the window, trying to calm her rapidly beating heart.
"Just one more." The tears fall from her eyes before she knows it. Her claws tremble as she grips the windowsill. The visions of her dream, her memories, replaying before her eyes in terribly immaculate detail.
Gods she can still hear the screams.
Before a sob can even escape from her, a familiar voice rumbles from the dark corners of her room. "I believe you said those same words 200 lifetimes ago." The voice was all encompassing. Comforting. She's known the soul who it belongs to years beyond counting and trusts them far more than she does in herself.
A wry smile twists her tired features. "And yet you still follow where I go don't you?"
The voice gives a hum. "Of course."
Sonata was glad she was never really alone, no matter how many times she didn't deserve this kindness. Wrapped in the comfort of darkness, she wept in the quiet night but for another completely different reason.
