Nightmare is the clan leader and protector. He suffered a brutal attack when he was younger, and wears a mask to hide the scars. One day, when he was hunting, he came upon two baby dragons crying and hungry. Suddenly, his fatherly senses kicked in, and he took these two - which he named Anita and Martin - under his wing. He soon also met Virua, and together they all became a little clan.
He fell in love with Virua, and they had a few nests together, but she never felt the same and when Kankri joined the clan, she became mates with him. This shook Nightmare to the core, and for a while he stayed away from everyone in the clan. On a walk, he accidently bumped into Porrim (and by bumped I mean headbutted her), and since then they have been together.
He fusses over everyone in the clan, especially Anita. Though she is bigger than he is, he still thinks of her as his little girl. He welcomes everyone into his clan that wants to join, and cares about them no matter what. He worries about everyone and stresses daily; he has to have talks with Porrim at night to calm down.
He's had his companion since the clan started. She's a fighter, like he is, and sometimes leaves her in charge of guarding the nesting grounds when he can't.
