Cold moon; light-shuttered and far No guide towards home. space x x (Dearest you must find your own way) Follow the lady, the sweet looking Pearlcatcher coos. Follow the lady, she's a tricky one, but I just know you can do it. You seem so smart, too cunning for her! Of course, it's a lie. It's always a lie, because Lepi is very good at lying. She's been doing it since the moment she left her birth clan to make her fortune. No honest work for her, no day-laboring or damsel-rescuing. No, it was the life of a card-sharp that eventually drew her in, and it was her skill that eventually brought her to the notice of Mai. It's whispered among the clan's other confidence schemers that Lepi is the only one ever to have successfully fooled the cunning Guardian. Whether this is true or not, neither of them will say. When not wandering out to the nearest city to ply her trade, Lepi tends to keep to herself, not because she doesn't enjoy the company of other dragons, but because she has trouble letting them see her for who she truly is. Showmanship and deceit are so very much a part of her that the honesty required to form lasting bonds has become unexpectedly challenging. She has very few people she can rely on, apart from her mate. Labra is the only dragon she finds it easy to be herself around - a fact she's privately amused by, since the Bogsneak is easily as dishonest as she is, if not more so.
