B I O G R A P H Y

Asterism is the fourth generation in the distinguished line of Celestial Runners, magical dragons whose innate gifts include word, bone and blood magic, as well as stargazing, future predictions, and cosmological knowledge and other unknown gifts from space.

Born to Comet and Celeste, Asterism was raised with his mother’s love of the stars, and the night skies spoke to him of things that none had heard before. Like the unofficial constellations he was named for, Asterism’s magic was not always recognized by his elders as being valid.

While gazing up at the night sky, the young dragon received a vision of a lair in the domain of the Earthshaker, with a perfect view of the stars and a community that would accept his semi-heretical teachings. When he arrived, the community he found there took him in, and soon he was accepted by the people of Dragonhome.

Many of the other dragons he met were also magical, and the exchange of knowledge was exhilarating. One dragon in particular had much wisdom to impart, and he found himself drawn to her side again and again. She was known as Lorka, and though she carried sadness around her like a dark mantle, her magic radiated a light he couldn’t ignore.

Lorka taught him the ways of magic with rocks and crystals, how they could be arranged and channeled to many ends, including communication with the dead. “Rocks are the bones of the dead,” her voice was sad, and the six egg shaped stones she kept with her things could often be found speaking secrets to her. He loved her, and soon the two of them were betrothed.

____You walk into the gauzy purple tent, and the skydancer that greets you is kinder than you thought he’d be. You’re not sure why -- perhaps you expected he’d be as aloof as the air around his Spiral mate.

____Instead, the warm flames in his Fireborn eyes seem more welcoming than threatening. A Marshland Poodle Mith flutters around your head, and you panic for a moment, until the skydancer’s laughing voice fills the tent.

____He calls out to the moth, “Moofle, leave them alone. They’re here for some magic.”
