"I will avenge you, father..."

King Legacy is the Imperial ruler of the Light territory and resides in the rapidly growing Hewn City. He has taken the throne of the ancient King Demelin and Lady Sylva.

As the first born child of the fallen warrior king, Arahathan, Legacy had a great weight upon his shoulders from the time of his hatching. As soon as he was able to stand without stumbling, the hatchling was trained in the skills of fighting and diplomacy.

Although his father was not a king, Legacy was treated like a prince—though one that was forced to be hard-working, studious, brave, loyal, and kind. Trials were placed before him, which he passed with growing ease (though there were always more tests). He stood before older warriors without quavering; he fought them as though they were enemies, but spoke to them as friends.

His mother, all but caring, saw to it that he had a hard time... but this only made him stronger, more patient. When his food was restricted from him, he would go to the nearest village and work for it, like any common dragon.

If she took his things, Legacy would say nothing—material items were not so important to him. He gave his mother the respect she was owed as a former queen but withheld from her the love of a son.

He loved his father dearly.

Legacy grew quickly; he would likely be larger than Arahathan at full dragonhood. His wings were strong, his antlers were impressive even as a dragonet. His claws and teeth were sharp, his mind was witty, his eyes were friendly but held a look of wisdom well beyond his years.

He would one day have a kingdom his own.

Legacy's journey across Sornieth was successful, and it brought him to the Hewn City to receive his crown. Even Oran, the Warden of the Greywall Stronghold, could not defeat him in battle, and was repelled. Legacy was greeted by the ghosts of the first rulers of the Hewn City, King Demelin and Lady Sylva, and together they bestowed upon him the crown and power to rule over the Hewn City. With a king present once more, the darkness surrounding the Hewn City dispelled and returned the once great city to its former splendor.

With the city renovated, word spread of Legacy's growing kingdom. Dragons came from all around to reside with the city's walls, turning the Hewn City into a booming metropolis of commerce overnight. The attention of the masses drew the eyes of the other Imperial rulers.

As king, Legacy not only leads the people but serves as the highest court in the kingdom. A typical day for him consists of waking early, bathing and dressing with the help of his consorts, and then strolling the back gardens. After he returns from his walk, he will enjoy a mid-sized breakfast and then take the throne for a few hours of court service, where he receives dragons needing to settle disputes the lower courts could not solve.

Lunch comes next. After a light meal, Legacy takes a leisurely flight over the palace and down into the upper echelons of the kingdom. Sometimes he glides out to one of the outer walls and inspects the guards' work. Returning to the palace, he sits with his council and discusses current issues, plans upcoming events, and seeks advice from the members of the council not present in the palace every day.

As it nears dinnertime, Legacy has some free time where he usually visits the bathhouse, duels with Glissan or Daybreak, or spends time in the library. For dinner, he has a hearty meal on the balcony with his consorts before he takes a walk through the palace. He visits with the guards, speaks with Glissan and Mardikan at the changing of the guard, or seeks Iaewen out for a reading.

Retiring to his rooms, Legacy undresses and beds down with his consorts to rest until dawn.

Legacy must journey to the Light territory to claim his birthright while escaping from an opposing Ice clan's attempts to thwart his claim to the throne.

While the world pivots around me I wait in line
Behind an old timer who's kingdom remains divine
So as Sornieth calls I follow the trail
To a hell unknown to others, my holy grail
As my following amasses, my eyes widen
As I view a future which is completely golden
Golden and encrusted with the jewels of my father
And with that ideal in mind I bother
To create a world around me to seize
Without a soul to appease
The light will remain within me as I run to rule
And though the world may seem cruel,
I will find my fortune

So first off, asking me to choose only one of your dragons is cruel and unusual punishment.

After some serious inner debate I ended up going with this boy. The contrast between the dark red and the golds is absolutely gorgeous.
