Fortem is one of your standard Pearlcatcher dragons within the lair of The Ashfall Waste. Had he follow the footsteps of his parents and ancestors partly before finding his own route towards becoming a blacksmith and forming armor for dragons during the many wars against the dreadful Beast Clans.

How did the Pearlcatcher end up with these motives is of the usual exploration of responsibilities and discovering himself as a dragon, he had been a mage at first like his father and had been working part time in the clan’s library during his search.

Fortem desired utility in some form of way once he was of age to form his first ever blade which came out wrong but overtime did he prove his worth to the clan and becoming their talented blacksmith. Regulus was proud of his son for succeeding in not only a job but a hobby to occupy himself.
Although work is a primary motivation, Fortem tries his best for not only that but also his family as they are the most important thing he has besides his created weapons and armor.

Though however one day had he come too close to the sparks performed whilst forming a sword for Anduin, burning not only his skin but mutating the cells within to prevent further overheating that he had struggled with so long, a win and a loss. How it was a loss not many know, not even Caligo as his dear brother Fortem hid it away beneath a helmet that seemed to never come off ever again ever since the event. Disgraced he was for getting too close to his creations, he began to take them to a new level of expressing his emotions; the sharper the sword the more angrier he was, the more edged the blade was, he was calm.
Not many of course understood it and often asked the Pearlcatcher what he was getting at but all they got was silence or a sizzle as smoke emerged from his helmet.

Despite his newly found silence, many know he is still the same dragon they have come to love and respect besides his impressive works. Regulus and Aster dread to talk or to bring up the subject about his “accident” for they see it as a way to push the Pearlcatcher down rather than encourage.

Fortem is a kind and caring dragon for he puts his family and friends first before himself and his job as a blacksmith. Although he has come to terms with his accident, he remains quite frantic whenever it is brought up in conversations with a gestured shake of the head. Silent as he comes, it does not mean he is ignoring one or is reluctant to talk but it’s for the matter and for the sake of the dragon he communicates with to prevent confusion as it is what he fears that will happen if he ever spoke beneath his helmet. Despite his easy going nature, he can prove to be quite serious and less laid-back than usual, specifically when he’s under pressure through work or constant requests provided by the clan. Some say that beneath his helmet, they hear him curse and even mutter words to express himself but no one comes closer than two inches as they fear of him being quick to justify.

Additonal
Fortem, although he does not show it, he has a natural skill when it comes to sword fighting and wielding shields in combat. Regulus and Aster have seen the Pearlcatcher train discreetly within his work place against carved wooden beasts replicas. The clan has remarked it and for each time they’d bring it up would Fortem look away and continue his duties as a blacksmith. The mutation of his skin has left him dreadfully scarred and almost unable to speak naturally as it went down to his throat. 		HTiMecF.png
