Baldwin was the king of distant land many years ago. Raised to be a fair and just ruler, his reign was one filled with glory though his life was always cursed. His family was all doomed to die while he was young and despite his pure soul, his body slowly decayed around him. A power hungry coup deposed him from his people and only being smuggled out by his lover-knight ensured his survival.

Oddly enough, living in the plaguelands seems to have slowed the progression of the flesh eating disease his body is wracked with, be it because of something in the air or the superior level of the physicians, he isn't sure.

Now he wears a mask to hide his decaying face, but his kind nature is ever present as he learns to bus the tables in Apollymi's tavern. This is the first time in his life he's done a working job but he finds it fulfilling, enjoying the way callouses form on his thin fingers.
