halimeda  APPRENTICE HEALER | HEAD SORCERESS | HERBALIST Halimeda was born to Huckleberry and Hawthorne, in a single-egged clutch during the Time of Great Sorrow. The hatchling was spared from exaltation and sale, for she quickly befriended Sothis, the main healer of the clan. She became his apprentice, and at the time was the youngest dragon with a position of power in the clan. She is a fast talker, quick learner, and eager apprentice. She discovered Drogo when he was wandering through the Gladeveins, and quickly became his mate. Halimeda is the head sorceress in battle, and has become an experienced herbalist. She is anticipated to take over the roles of both Sothis and Spercheus, should the two healers retire. |

DETAILED BIOGRAPHY
Halimeda is the child of Huckleberry and Hawthorne, and a product, consequentially, of two affairs. After the Time of Great Sorrow (a period where the clan had no children, and food was scarce and hard to find), her parents became desperate. Hawthorne was blamed by her mate for their infertinity, so she turned to Huckleberry, whose mate was accusing him of the same thing. The two managed to produce a clutch containing just her.
Halimeda, the only hatchling in the clan for a while, was easily found out as the product of her mother’s affair, as she would have been green if her father was Hallam. Huckleberry as her father is unknown to her and the rest of the clan. Huckleberry, however, was the one to pick her name, for her blue scales reminded him of the Water Tribe he had visited on his way to the Nature Clans.
Immediately, Hallam called for her exaltation, as he couldn't bear to see the product of his mate's infidelity living within the clan. Halimeda, although young, was crafty, and knew that if she were to last in the clan, she had to act boldly and quickly. Under her mother's encouragement, Halimeda was spared from exaltation and sale, for she latched to Sothis.
Sothis loved the idea of having a new apprentice, so he relieved his mate of her assistant duties and took Halimeda under his wing. Halimeda learned quickly, to everyone’s surprise, and has become Sothis' equal in ability. After Spercheus, the other healer of the clan, became injured, she took over his roles in battle.
She sought out other dragons to join the clan once food became plentiful again, teaming up with the scouts. She used her magical abilities to pinpoint dragons lurking on their borders, and guided the scouts to their location. She was the one to find Drogo wandering in the Gladeveins. Halimeda was attracted to his wit and humor, and pretty much forced him to return to the clan with her. The two have since become mates, and raise new clutches as frequently as they can together.
